Honey Is Secretly a Face Wash

I have struggled with facial acne for quite some time. I have tried almost every remedy available, and nothing seemed to really work.
About six months ago, I started washing my face with organic honey instead of my traditional salycilic acid face wash. My boyfriend's mom recommended it to me, and I was shocked at how quickly I got big results: I was noticing less pimples, and my minor scarring left over was slowly fading. The overall quality of my skin was improving. It was so exciting!
After I used up that first bottle, I bought organic raw honey. I am as happy with the results from the raw honey as I was from the pasturized honey. The honey facewash has definitely become key in my regimen, but it is in no way the only thing that keeps my skin clear - I still use other products, too. However, I decided to find out why honey made a miracle face wash, and here's what I found. It turns out that raw honey really is ideal for a facial cleanser, but it has some key benefits.
1. Honey removes impurities without removing the oil your skin naturally produces.
2. Honey's antibacterial and probiotic properties effectively reduce acne and prevent new acne from showing up.
Honey can be used on all skin types because it is gentle. It also balances oily skin and moisturizes dry skin. It is also more affordable than many skincare products on the market.
To wash your face with honey, put the honey on your face before you get it wet. Use as much as is necessary to get a thin, even layer spread across the whole face. You can leave it on like a mask, but I usually just rinse it off with warm water like a normal facewash. Pat dry, and you're set!

P.S. I found my organic raw honey at Whole Foods.
